1.
Meet me in that hallway Little Bastard's coming home Dead roses on the doorstep Distant voices on the phone Waiting for the mourners, alone in the front row Stark white call to join you, dressed up in shades of crow Midnight on Route 466 Rushing for that Last Kiss Red light gonna set me free When I arrive I'll be so cold Promise me before we fold You'llwear the black dress for me Take me back into your darkened crypt A purr to the taste of ash and skin Bleed for the cut of curves I crave Eternal, wrapped in your funeral din
2.
Drain the taste so slowly Enfolded by a waning pulse Carved in deathless memory Cold flesh spun endless beautiful Sip the years in longing Warmth evoking distant taste Endless drain to sanguine fate Endless life in sips of mine Pass the years through lips that drain Open these veins and drink the wine Caught in celluloid glory Forever by the night estranged Orbit decays slowly Desire's teeth close this range Vicious skin wraps hungry In screams of loss and mourning stains Burn, Burn little flame Our pulse swings close in time Dim hours shield our kind Where shadows bay and sigh
3.
Behold the final night Sins await our curtain call Hand of end has swept this land All gather as last night falls Let mourning set the stage Colder days now given birth Shutter age of man away And let our shadows rule the earth Sing notes of dim refrain Guttered lights in feral eyes Dumb beasts now roam untamed Seal of longing & fading sighs

about

Recorded near the beginning of the pandemic, tracks 1 & 2 of this release were originally written around the time of the short-lived Vampira store here in New Orleans. I've always had a fascination with how James Dean and Maila Nurmi shared an interest in the occult and macabre (as well the rumours which surrounded them) and wanted to write a song from the point of view of Dean if he shared Ms. Nurmi's amourous intent. The third track is planned for our second album & was recorded in the same session as a bonus for download upon purchase of the 7", but plans for such have been pushed back slightly due to the current world situation.

about

Death Church New Orleans, Louisiana

Death Church came about from a stew of influences: Samhain,TSOL, Christian Death, GISM, Joy Division to name a few. Throughout each incarnation, the songs remain about the daily strife of human existence, the horrors of isolation and despair, the feeling that everything sits on a thin glass sheet over primoridal chaos. Always too punk for the goths, too goth for the punks. We are the sleepless. ... more
